Springtime music 2017

Spring is here.  We are sharing new music and a children’s book.

“Wisdom, the elephant used by God” and the song “I Will Follow”

Grand daughter Aliyah is helping at story time and singing along. Wisdom is about a brave little elephant with big faith to follow God. She and her parents travel from south Africa to north Africa. God protects them through many dangers and they find a man named Noah building an ark. This is a fun adventure animal parable to add to your home library or read in Sunday school class readings.

We recorded the song and audiobook at Blue Chair Recording Studio in Austin, Arkansas during Spring break 2017. Always fun creating new music. Thank you to our engineer Darian Stribling and musician Tim Crouch.

We sang at Scott, Arkansas. The annual dinner is to celebrate all that our Arkansas farmers do to feed America. Thank you Anne Turner. Always a great event.

We sang at a Hawaiian luau at Andover Opry.

We sang at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church Adult Fellowship March luncheon and received a standing ovation. Thank you Max

We recorded four new songs this year: “I Will Follow” and “Joshua” for the Animals Used by God series. “Leap of Faith” a lullaby that Rod and I composed together. and “Nothing Better Than You” a love song written by Rod Ragsdale, that everyone will love. We are in process and hopefully will finish by May. An exciting Spring has begun. Life is fun.

Happy Spring all.

I enjoyed learning how to paint with oil a couple years ago watching Bob Ross and with the help of a wonderful woman, Elodie Bingham as my inspiration. She says to allow God to show us whatever it was we didn’t know or Bob couldn’t explain. I was the choir director at the time at the First United Methodist Church and she was a part of that as well. We are just a couple of creative people having fun in this world with music and paint brushes what can I say. I don’t think I have an inborn gift for it, but I find it so restful and therapeutic that I continue to draw, paint and even have started illustrating my own children’s books with watercolor. It fasinates me and its fun. Besides after finding out it would cost me upward of $4,000 a book to hire an illustrator, I thought I should give it a try. Well here are four of my very first oil paintings and a couple watercolor paintings done last year. Today I showed some children my new Christmas book ‘Twas The Mouse Before Christmas watercolor artwork and they said they really liked it. I read my story to them at Noah’s school and showed the kids my illustrations. I love reading at the schools, I love singing with the kids, doing some art together and I really love Christmas!!! So we had a great deal of fun and I’m off and running and feeling very blessed indeed. My Christmas book will be published this fall or pre-order it at my online shop Carol Dabney at Esty.com

From Pat Brannon:
I am a Christian and children’s author from Amory, MS. However, Morrilton, AR is my hometown.

My life has been a series of miracles, beginning with my birth. I’m not supposed to be alive, but I am anyway. God has plans for my life. I just came through a second bout of cancer. This time it involved a stem cell transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MS. I am now cancer-free and doing extremely well.

I was verbally bullied as a child and as an adult. Bullying is NOT acceptable in my opinion. So, I do everything I can to stop it. I do an anti-bullying presentations at schools. My program is perfect for churches, civic and community events too.

Since the age of nine, I have written songs and performed on the small stage, television and radio and I was a member of three bands. I am a featured vocalist at my church, have my own trio (Lifeline) and am active in our Adult Sanctuary Choir.

I have been married for nearly 38 years (Valentine’s Day) to an amazing man, have two fantastic sons and a wonderful grandson.

My relationship with God, my family, friends, writing and singing are all important to me. And, I love to laugh and have fun. I love to play trivia games to see what I have learned in my life and what I have retained. I never meet a stranger. I consider folks I don’t know to be just that-friends I’ve never met before.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a fun, engaging read! January 4, 2013
By Emerald Barnes
Format:PaperbackI loved reading this book to my nieces and nephew! They were helping me count along with the book, and they loved the funny pictures of the quirky animals! They were laughing and pointing at the camel in purple high heels, saying they’d never seen such, and absolutely loving the book! Mrs. Brannon has definitely got a wonderful kids’ book on her hand, and I definitely suggest buying such a cute, fun book for your kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, and as gifts for any child you know!

It helps your child learn, engage in reading, and absolutely love the funny little animals!

About the Author
Pat Brannon is a Christian and children’s author and a Southern Gospel songwriter from Amory, MS. Having grown up in a large musical family, writing songs, books and poems are like breathing to Pat. She has a passion for writing and pursues that passion with all the gusto she can muster. And, she loves people. Growing up on the musical stage, Pat loves singing and performing. Since the age of nine, she has been a member of three bands and appeared on the small stage, radio and television. She is a regular vocalist at Meadowood Baptist Church and is an active member of the Adult Sanctuary Choir. When Pat isn’t singing, you can look for her at schools doing her full monologue in character about bullying. Not only is this presentation great for schools, it’s perfect for churches also. This is a program everyone should see. Although Pat was born in Morrilton, Arkansas, in 1981 she and her family moved to Amory, MS. Book Description
Publication Date: October 16, 2012
It is not unusual to see a gorilla beating its chest at the zoo, but it is unusual to see it boxing with a mosquito. You’ve probably seen camels walking through the desert on television, but I bet you’ve never seen them in a bowling league at the bowling alley. I’m sure you’ve seen chickens strut around in the chicken pen from time to time, but I bet you’ve never seen a sunburned chicken. Kangaroos are fun animals that normally hop all over the place, but I’m sure that you’ve never seen them hop on someone’s head. Just like humans, animals sometimes do strange and unexpected things. Step inside this book of wonders and enjoy the animals that are sure to capture your attention.
