Heather Sutherlin was giving a workshop for young adult writers and readers in the main library at the 10th annual Literacy Festival in April when she allowed me to wandered in. I learned a lot from her and got to know her. She is kind and creative and a wonderful mother of three talented children. She is now a good friend and the President of the Fiction Writers of Little Rock group that meets on the 4th Saturday morning of every month at Baptist Health in a conference room just off the cafe. If you are a writer Come join us from 9 to noon.
This week, we are celebrating Heather Sutherlin’s newest book, Wandering. We are launching Wandering the second book in a series for young adult fiction fantasy readers.
A launch is a very exciting event because it means that the years of work, love and labor that went into creating this one book project has finally been completed and finally been published. The author who has worked on word by word and chapter by chapter, creating meaningful characters has finally been able to give you an ebook or physical work of themselves. It’s their gift made with great passion. They don’t know if others will ever know the work and yes sometime sacrifices that occurred while creating this project; they don’t know while creating if anyone will read it, but their deep passions push them on to leave a legacy.
The Light series, A Light in the Darkness, Seen and Wandering are all waiting at http://www.amazon.com for you to see the work Heather has so lovingly placed on the shelves there just for you to find and read. Go and grab your copy and enjoy the adventures.
Oh and please be sure to contact Heather and let her know how much you enjoyed her story.
